It Is Friday the 27 January 2012 at approximately 3 PM

I am excited because my highly anticipated sample of “Pure Energy” has arrived

I can’t wait to try this new amazing product that I’ve been hearing so much about

Pure is a whole new kind of nutrition company, started from people I trust and do business with

based on their rock solid professionalism of my past dealings with them I was anxious to try this new product

It is 3 PM, and I have taken the pure energy as directed by Dr. Becky

Is now 5 PM, and I am feeling a New Mental Alertness…

Normally around 5 PM I start winding down my day as my day starts at 6 AM,

followed by two vigorous hours at the gym.

It is now 8 PM of day one, this new mental clarity is still going strong,

interesting, I like this

it is now 10:30 PM and way past my bedtime, my mind is racing, this may be why Dr. Becky says take it first thing in the morning   (ha ha should listen to the doc)

well I fell asleep for about one hour, and I awoke all kinds of thoughts racing through my head I had to get up, I spent some time a computer and went to bed about 3 AM.  (Very strange I haven’t seen 3 AM in years)

I start and end every day in my life with a constant reminder of my stupidity.

Huh? I start and end every day in a wheelchair…

Imagine if you will, if I allowed this reminder to stand in the way of my success.

I understand the power of mindset, and I have returned to my roots

Mindset is key in overcoming adversity, for as many of you know

I am an above the knee amputee and for the vast majority of us,

this affliction has stopped our lives, as it did mine for seven years…

So what changed on the eighth year?

I became involved in network marketing and was exposed for the first time in my life the power of mindset.

“ya ya I have heard this all before, but have you listened?

Because I use this power to become very successful in my life!

• My activity level is that of K4 which is the highest level that an above the knee amputee can achieve
• I have been recognized by the manufacturer of prosthetic knees “Otto Bock”,
• I am on the Cover of Home Business Magazine
• I am featured on the distributor’s website,
• I am an award winner in every network opportunity have been involved with
• Received many honors in Toastmasters, most recently rookie of the year!

Not only is mindset helped me in business, I have turned this inward on my health

I’ve gone from 290 pounds with a 54 inch waist,

to 205 pounds with a 38 inch waist my BMI is now 30, and the Veterans Administration says I have the body of a 34-year-old

What’s so impressive about that? Understand that I am 59 years old

and this month marks my 14th month of returning to the gym and getting my weight under control

That is why I say its great the way sweatpants because you want to and not because you’re hiding something

This is not about me!

This is about “YOU” and how returning to my roots can help you we need to understand that success lies within you!

I want to tell you a story of something you already know…

Business and success is not easy

97% of all new businesses fail this includes the online business

So what do those 3% have that the rest of us do not? A strong will and a determined nature to succeed

“YES” they do, but they do not hold a monopoly,

as you see most of these businesses all work, so why do some succeed so greatly while others fall by the wayside?

You need to think differently,

if I had not learn to think differently my life so many others that I have helped would be so less meaningful,

I am grateful for the joy I know of helping others succeed

I want to help you today, to understand the power of the mind as Napoleon Hill wrote some decades ago,

“Think and Grow Rich” it was is relevant then as it is today, and I believe more so today

Creates the perfect storm at the gym.

When I arrived at the gym today the first thing I noticed was how full the parking lot was, and for a few minutes I wondered why and then it occurred to me.

The new crowd are fulfilling their New Year’s resolution combined with their Christmas gift of a gym membership

What better way to bring in the new year and to get into shape combining a holiday in a Christmas gift all rolled into one, that leaves the regulars like me, scrambling to find a place to work out or a vacant machine

Truth be told, and actually put a smile on my face to see all these new people

You see it’s winter here, in the gym becomes pretty vacant.

My hope is that half of these people will continue their new found path to wellness

Also understand that mindset is in full control here…

Just wishing for a comitment to come true is not enough, you will need to acknowledge a true commitment and to do this is not easy..

Today as I was getting ready for Christmas Eve, I was complaining to myself about how long it takes me to get ready for the day (all the preparations)

Then it hit me, for I am so lucky to be able to get dressed on my own, when so many have gone through so much more than I and cannot even do this simple task, as The VA has questioned me time and again, you do not require assistance to get dressed and prepare your meals?

My answer is always the same, I do not require assistance. Another realization! Came upon me…

I am what I am, due to my Family! My Wife and children stepped up and took over what they could do, thereby removing those tasks that was now difficult for me to do, without them I could not have grown, I am in awe of my Powerful family   “ I love you so much”

So here it is   “YES” I am dependent!

• Dependent on the love and support of my Family
• Dependent on the Friendship of my new friends that have accepted me and helped me grow into a powerful person  

For Which I am full of gratitude today, Due to the love of my family and friends I have been given a new lease on life “I strive not to disappoint the gift I have been given”

There are so many to thank, more than I know…

That is why my mission in life is to assist others, for I have been giving a gift, The gift of a renewed life

   “I am an above the knee amputee”

She said “That leg looks cool” and you walk so well…

Further into the appointment she started to share the story of her uncle…

He lost his leg as a teenager, and has not done so well, “He almost never wears his prosthetic leg” and his health is deteriorating, I asked his age, turns out he is younger than me, She asked how did I master walking and her Uncle cannot?

I told her it all starts in the mind, Mindset is key in overcoming everything “If the mind can conceive it and believe it, the body will achieve it”

She agreed; I informed her that I would be happy to have a conversation with her uncle and meet with him to see if I could possibility help. “Really?”

I said yes, and handed her a business card and said have him call me. Let’s see what we can do together “She hugged me, and said thank you!”

 Before I do that, you need to know a little of my history.

 It was January in the year 2000, as usual for this time of year, snow lies on rooftops.

A particularly harsh storm had just passed through Connecticut, this storm damaged a data satellite receiver.

I was called upon to make repairs to this data satellite, as I was the person who installed it. (In better weather of course) .

When I arrived on the job site, I observed that there was snow and ice on this roof, however the peak of the roof appeared to be dry and workable, this is where the data satellite was located.

Upon venturing upon this treacherous pitched roof, avoiding the ice and snow

I made way to the data satellite. “Tools and parts in hand”, after a period of time in testing I had in fact been successful in my repair.

I signaled to my son on the ground who was working with me that momentous day, all was well and I was coming down, I gathered all of the equipment together…

And then it happened!

The next thing I knew I was on the ground trying to stand up on two broken legs, you see I had just fallen 40 feet to the ground, as you can imagine that did not work very well.

Lying back down on the snow it was apparent that I was in trouble, I could not stand up…

My son looked at me with horror in his eyes, and people started to gather comforting me and warming me as we awaited the arrival of the ambulance,  (more on this in later chapters.)

This is how I became an above-the-knee amputee, my left leg was now a stump and the lower part of my limb was no more.

In learning to be a successful above-the-knee amputee, I was not one of the shining stars,

In fact I almost gave up, for seven years I whined and tried to walk. In the eighth year however, I decided to walk, how did I come to this decision? “Mindset”, (again more on this in later chapters).

Over the course of the last three years, I started to learn to walk again. Just as a child learns to walk, so must an amputee. It is an excruciatingly painful ordeal, one that must be endured in order to survive.

Survive?  “Why did I use the term survive?”, because life in a wheelchair is a death sentence. Once in a wheelchair the average life expectancy is less than 10 years, (more on this later).

Here we are in November of 2011, I have achieved success as an above-the-knee amputee, my activity level as told to me is that of a K4, that is the highest activity level that they, the professional community, has.

November also happens to mark my one year anniversary of returning to the gym.

You see, I work out daily for about an hour and a half in a normal gym with regular people utilizing regular exercise machinery, nothing special, just the normal gym.

How normal is it for an above-the-knee amputee to be working out at a normal gym “not at all”.

Here is the next chapter in my return to normality, but before we get into that…

I want to illustrate the power of the law of attraction, the law of attraction states that, whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the body will achieve.

Hence the phrase is “Be Careful what you wish for”, I first put all my power and thought into walking, the universe found a way to answer my prayers.

What is the next chapter? I want to run, foot over foot, as a normal person would, this has been my foremost thought for months now.

On my latest trip to the VA Medical Center, an appointment scheduled to review my newest prosthetic leg which I’ve been wearing for about three months.

“I am so thankful to the VA medical community for providing me the latest and greatest that technology has to offer as well as the skilled hands of the craftsman who make my socket”

They were pleased with my progress as I now walk as a normal person.

They asked is there anything else that we can do for you? I replied yes!

• I want to run, this set off a flurry of questions, basically qualifying me. “I guess I passed, because they approved me”

Yes that is correct! This panel of professionals at the VA Medical Center approved this 59-year-old to have custom-made and fitted, a new leg which has the sole purpose of running.

So that brings me here, I have not run and 12 years, they asked me how I intend to learn to run I said with your help, that is when I was introduced to the man that runs physical therapy, His reply?

Get ready to learn the run, so there we go… “Oh my God what I got myself into” Starting all over again as a child now learning to run.

You can well imagine the saying be careful what you wish for, because the law of attraction will answer your prayers, now my prayers of my body to respond in kind and be gentle to me, as I move forward to my new quest to achieve the endurance and power of a runner, which finally should bring my weight down to my goal of 160 pounds.

For as you see in the year 2004 I was 290 pounds, I worked myself down to 210 and was stuck there for six months, I have now gained 10 pounds back so I’m at 220.

My motivation is high my anxiety is high, my excitement level is through the roof! For now I am asking for the law of attraction and my mindset at age 59 as an above-the-knee amputee, to return to normality at 160 pounds, my excitement level is that of a teenager.
